The Point Bonita Lighthouse up in the Marin headlands is open for night tours every full moon from 8-10pm, so seeing that this past evening was the Harvest moon and that it was a crystal clear night, my buddy Kyle and I decided to go check it out. We got there around 9pm and ventured right down the trail up to the rusted war-era iron door to the tunnel where you would usually cross through to the other side where the lighthouse is- however it was closed and locked. Oops. I guess we missed it by a night. We could only make the best of it by wandering around the ancient abandoned WWII batteries, in awe of how incredibly clear and bright out it was under that full moon. We got some good pictures, but next month I’m gonna make a point of going on the right night to get that lighthouse.
